Day 36: The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Posted on Tuesday 27 April 2010

When the robbers stripped and beat the man who was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, leaving him half dead; they gave nothing for something.

When the priest and the Levite, who went down the same road, saw the man and passed by on the other side; they gave nothing for nothing.

When the inn-keeper  received his two silver coins, and a guaranteed reimbursement of any extra expenses - took care of the man; he gave something for something.

When the Good Samaritan saw him, took pity on him, went to him, bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, put the man on his own donkey, took him to the inn and took care of him, paid two silver coins and will reimburse extra expenses; he gave something for nothing.
